Privacy Promise: Selah is dedicated to sacred privacy. We do not sell or broker personal data. Your prayers, streaks, and bookmarks stay locally on your device.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary for scripture reading, audio synthesis, and optional fellowship:
- Account Info (Optional): Display name, avatar, and denomination for leaderboard rankings and prayer fellowship.
- Local Device Data: Reading history, streak milestones, and achievements are stored locally on your device.
- Crash & Performance: Anonymous diagnostic telemetry provided via Google Play Services.
- Email Account (Optional): Name, email and a hashed password are stored only on your device; they are not sent to our servers.
- Google Sign-In (Optional): If you choose it, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with the app. This is used only to show your profile on the device.
- Approximate/Precise Location (Optional): Used only when you open the nearby churches map, to show distances. It is processed on your device and is not stored or sent to us.
- Server Requests: When you listen to audio devotions or read the news feed, the text being read or the request is sent to our server, which processes it and may log your IP address briefly for abuse protection.
- Advertising Data: Google AdMob may collect your Advertising ID, IP address and device information to show and measure ads. In the EEA/UK you are asked for consent first.
You can delete all locally stored data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. For any other data request, contact us at the address below.
2. Audio & Permissions
Audio devotions use native on-device speech synthesis and ambient synthesizers. No microphone recordings are ever made.
3. Advertisements & Subscriptions
Google AdMob displays standard family-friendly ads. Optional Selah Plus subscriptions are securely billed through Google Play Billing.
